Notes from the Men’s Committee:

Friday PM Bowls:
Ken Elvey came up with a jackpot idea for our Friday bowls , and this will be implemented as soon as possible .

The Hastings Mid-week Challenge will start again on 5/02/08 (Tuesday)

Club Ltd chairman Bob Langham has confirmed that synthetic carpet will be laid on 3 & 4 greens before next December and will have lights .

Pennants will start on 1/03/08…
Port City still does not have confirmation on the number of sides/grades that the District will allow us to have….This has gone on for 6 weeks now without a firm answer and now has gone to the Royal for approval . Indications at this stage are that we will be told what we can have and our submissions to the district to date could be overruled .

Umpire’s News :

The old 21 metre jack length is back in ….and also winner of the previous end retains the mat ..

The “ For Sale “ sheet is working well , so if you have unwanted bowls equipment or clothes etc write your ad on a coaster and put it in the secretaries pidgeon hole to be printed
.
