Some of the keen spectators
We were blessed again today with fine weather, sunny skies, but some gusty winds to give the bowlers a challenge on the correct green to take.
The section winners from Monday and Tuesday played today with some of the top seeded and local players dropping out in some very close games. The standard of bowling was excellent to the pleasure of spectators both on the sidelines and in the bowlers lounge.
The 6 sectional winners plus the 2 next best based on wins and margins are as follows. An early start at 8:15 am tomorrow (Thursday 28th Aug.) for the quarter finals as follows.
Rod Darcey (Maitland City), winner section 1 with 3 wins + 24 shots vs Rex Johnston (Tuncurry), wildcard 8 on 2 wins + 20 shots.
Ross Logan ( Pacific Palms), winner section 3 with 3 wins + 18 shots vs Bryce Stewart (Westport) winner section 6 with 2 wins + 22 shots.
Tony Taylor ( Harbord), winner section 4 with 3 wins + 8 shots vs Neil Robson (Kahibah) winner section 5 with 3 wins + 16 shots.
Allan Carver (Park Beach), wildcard 7 on 2 wins + 13 shots vs Shane Garvey (Engadine) winner section 2 with 3 wins + 26 shots.
Come out tomorrow to enjoy some of the best bowls you will see in Port Macquarie at Port City BC- the quarter finals and semi finals will be played in the morning followed by the final early in the afternoon. All games will be 21 up and promise to be entertaining.
